There are more than 364 Amazon warehouses (inclusive of fulfillment, distribution and sortation centres) located around the world, with that number set to grow rapidly over the coming years. Often, skylights have been installed in order to give a combination of natural and artificial light. Therefore, it’s important that Amazon have these centres in place.
These extra centres will ensure that packages are distributed based on location and delivery speed (will the package be going to an Amazon Prime customer, for example?). They’re also in place to ensure goods are handled and distributed according to a specific item category or whether it’s for seasonal use. There’s also a warehouse dedicated for the distribution of popular items in order to help meet demand.
