What’s the difference between 3 and 4-wheeled electric forklifts?
- 3-wheeled models provide exceptional handling due to their small turning circle which makes them perfect for narrow and enclosed spaces, such as warehouses. The load capacities of the 3-wheeled trucks range from 1 to 2 tonnes, so these models are well-suited to businesses with light load requirements.
- 4-wheeled models are well-suited for rough or uneven surfaces and have increased stability and higher load capacities ranging from 1.6 to 5 tonnes. Higher power means better performance on steeper inclines.

Frequently Asked Questions About Diesel Forklifts
Can’t find the answer to your question? Get in touch with our friendly team and we’ll be happy to help!
LPG forklifts refer to forklifts powered by liquid propane gas, also known as LPG. One of the reasons this type of forklift is so popular is they’re easy to refuel; simply detach the empty propane tank and replace it with a full one.
Diesel forklifts are incredibly robust and have a higher torque compared with a gas powered forklift, but they also produce fumes that can cause environmental and safety issues when used in enclosed spaces. While they’re a great option for outdoor use, if you need a forklift that’s suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, LPG forklifts are the better option as they produce much lower emissions.
As well as producing fewer emissions and being easier to refuel when compared with diesel forklifts, LP gas forklifts are more compact and easy to manoeuvre. There’s also no need to leave them to recharge overnight like you’d need to do with an electric forklift.
Our Cesab forklifts are available with a torque converter or hydrostatic drive train, available with either an LPG or diesel engine. The LPG versions come with a maintenance-free 3-way catalytic muffler, whereas diesel options receive a low-maintenance, auto-regenerating diesel particle filter.
